Members of CLAC Local 53 recently voted 79 percent in favour of accepting the three-year contract. The settlement provides employees with increases to their monetary package, including wages, premiums, pension contributions, and travel allowance. There is also a new general employee expense allowance that enables workers to top up benefits coverage and receive reimbursement for tools, safety gear, work clothing, and wellness purchases. Employer-paid health benefits and vacation pay remain unchanged. “This contract is, once again, an excellent testament to the working relationship between the parties,” said Ryan Griffioen, CLAC representative. “All those present at the bargaining table did a great job focusing on reaching an agreement that works in the best interest of all involved, and the bargaining unit passed it with a large stamp of approval.” You might be interested in The Power of Asking for Help 20 Jul 2026 How to Manage an Insecure Leader 16 Jul 2026 Heat of the Moment 13 Jul 2026 The Power Within Is No Yolk! 13 Jul 2026
