Sunday, August 13, 2017 New Agreement for Independent Contractors Association – General Contractors Section Newsletters Ratifications Hamilton, ON—Local 6 members employed by members of the Independent Contractors Association—General Contractors Section (Demik Construction Company Ltd., G.S. Wark Ltd., Schilthuis Construction Ltd., and STF Construction Ltd.) ratified a new three-year contract. The agreement provides 4.5 percent wage increases, new seniority language, improvements to discipline language, and updated grievance and arbitration language. All four companies are based in the Hamilton region but work throughout the GTHA, the Niagara peninsula, and beyond. Most of the Local 6 members employed by these companies work as carpenters, operators, and labourers on commercial and institutional projects.
