Friday, March 20, 2026 Nason Contracting Fabrication Employees Secure Wage and Premium Gains with New Agreement Local 63 Ratifications Construction NISKU, AB—Local 63 members employed by Nason Contracting Group Ltd. – Fabrication ratified a two-year collective agreement providing them with wage increases and new and increased premium pay. Members voted 97 percent in favour of the agreement and secured a 3 percent base wage increase effective March 1, 2026, along with a wage review for 2027 that includes a minimum base wage increase of 2.5 percent. The agreement also introduces a $2 per hour TIG/alloy welding premium and a $1 per hour premium for operation of the plasma table and increases the dual ticket premium to $2 per hour. Tool lists were also revised and shortened. “Our members bring a high level of skill and versatility to their work,” says Spencer Nieuwenhout, representative. “This agreement recognizes their expertise with meaningful wage increases and new premiums that reflect the value they provide.” Nason Contracting Group – Fabrication performs fabrication work primarily tied to Nason Contracting Group Ltd. – Construction, Bird Construction Inc., and Stuart Olsen Inc. industrial and heavy commercial projects.
