Wednesday, January 22, 2025 Nason Contracting Employees Ratify Two-Year Agreement Locals Local 63 Edmonton—Local 63 members employed by Nason Contracting Group Ltd. in the maintenance division working at the Shell Scotford plant voted over two-thirds in favour of ratifying a two-year collective agreement providing them with a four percent base wage increase retroactive to January 1, 2025. Other improvements include • a wage review in December 2025; • a 1 percent increase to matching pension contributions, bringing total retirement contributions to 12 percent; • an increase to on-call compensation to $250 per week; • an increase to the boot allowance from $175 to $200 per year; • the addition of custom ear protection (50 percent coverage up to a maximum of $300); and • the addition of loss of pregnancy and death of an aunt or uncle to bereavement leave. In addition, contract language was created to protect the civil maintenance projects group from being used as discount labour on major industrial construction projects on site.
