Tuesday, April 21, 2026 Nason Contracting Employees Ratify New Agreement Securing Key Improvements Local 63 Ratifications Construction EDMONTON—Local 63 members employed by Nason Contracting Group Ltd. (Construction Division) ratified a 32-month collective agreement with 78 percent support, securing key improvements in several areas. The bargaining unit includes approximately 180 members working across Alberta, including La Crete, Edmonton, Calgary, Canmore, and Banff, in the environmental, commercial, industrial, and renewable energy sectors. The new agreement, effective April 26, 2026, to January 31, 2029, includes several key improvements for the commercial construction sector. Wage increases include 3.3 percent in Calgary and 3 percent for certified carpenters in Edmonton, with additional wage reviews scheduled for March 2027 (2 percent minimum increase) and again in February 2028. RSP matching has been enhanced with an additional 1.5 percent at 5 and 10 years of service, and a new 1 percent match at 8 years.Travel provisions have been updated to be based on Google Maps using the shortest distance, along with single room occupancy and an increased meal allowance of $55 per day.
