Friday, May 23, 2025 NAC Employees Secure Wage Increases, Other Improvements with New Contract Local 52 Ratifications Construction MORRISTON, ON—Employees of North America Const. (1993) Ltd. (NAC) voted in favour of a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage increases and other improvements. NAC employees have been represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52, for nearly 32 years. The company employs approximately 125 union members in a variety of trades. The new contract includes total package increases of 11.3 percent over the term. In addition to wage increases, the agreement provides employees with increases to foreperson and lead-hand premiums, the boot and workwear allowance (to $500 annually), and employer payments toward the cost of the benefits plan. “This was a challenging round of negotiations as the parties balanced the cost of living along with the attraction and retention of workforce talent while still remaining competitive,” says J. D. Alkema, CLAC regional director for the GTA. “During negotiations, we were able to secure good compensation for our members while balancing the employer’s need to be competitive. The new agreement will also help NAC retain the excellent workforce it has.” You might be interested in Why We Work Safely 5 Jun 2026 Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026
