Mental Health First Aid Training

CLAC Training, Saskatchewan, wants to assist members with the impact that the last year has had on their mental health. Recognizing that these challenges are ongoing, we have added some courses to our offerings to provide some assistance.

We have partnered with a local mental health expert to deliver Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training here in Saskatchewan. Cara Taylor of Oaks Mental Health will be providing both in-class and online MHFA training.

MHFA is a comprehensive program by the Mental Health Commission of Canada that gives people the skills to provide early intervention to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. For those who qualify, assistance is available through the Derek Schreiber Mental Health First Aid fund, which will help cover the cost of MHFA training.

Cara will also be offering various webinars on dealing with stress, anxiety, and other mental health related topics over the coming months. For more information on these and other offerings, please either contact the CLAC Training, Saskatchewan, training coordinator at SKTraining@clac.ca or 877-649-2522 or go to our training calendar on clac.ca/training/SK to get more information about these programs.
