Local 6 Local 53 Ontario Construction

Local 6 Golf Tournament and Annual General Meeting

The local held its annual general meeting and golf tournament at Century Pines Golf & Country Club on June 7. Members enjoyed great weather, lunch, and prizes. Thanks to all for coming out to enjoy a great day!

McCann Redi-Mix Inc.

On August 17, Local 53 members employed by McCann Redi-Mix Inc. joined Local 303 healthcare members and CLAC staff at East Park Water Park in London for a fun day in the sun. Members were able to enjoy discounted passes for the water slides, wave pool, and splashpad for the day and were also treated to a free barbecue lunch. Thank you to all of those who came out and enjoyed the day with family and friends!

Windsor Food Truck Event

Local 53 held its annual food truck event for members in the Windsor area on July 16. Members could choose from an assortment of delicious sandwiches made by Road Chef and available for free to members who were able to drop in and to crews who could send some to pick them up. Jeff Pickles and Michael Kamminga from the CLAC Training Team attended and gave out great information to apprentices and listened to their concerns as they make their way through their apprenticeship program. They also raffled off some cool CLAC swag. Mike Fuerth from Fastening House attended, providing members with an opportunity to look at some new and exciting products and try out some tools. Even though there were plenty of thunder clouds threatening to ruin the event, the weather held out, and many members and their companies attended. Thanks to all for coming out!
