Thursday, December 7, 2017 McCarron Employees Secure Over 18 Percent Total Increase Locals Local 53 Ratifications Sectors Construction Wallaceburg, ON—Local 53 members employed by McCarron Plumbing and Heating Ltd. have voted unanimously to accept the terms of a new collective agreement. The contract was negotiated by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The five-year agreement secures three percent increases to wage rates annually. In addition, employees secured advances in healthcare benefits with improved long term disability coverage and vision coverage. Employer-paid pension contributions are scheduled to improve over the life of the contract by a total of $1.25 per hour.
