Friday, December 6, 2024 Mavcor Employees Unanimously Ratify First Agreement Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Mississauga, ON—Electricians, labourers, and carpenters employed by Mavcor Electrical Services Inc./Mavcor Inc. unanimously ratified a first collective agreement negotiated by their union. The 15 new Local 52 members will see increases to their wages, a move to CLAC’s benefits plan—with huge gains in coverage levels—improved vacation pay, and enrolment in the CLAC Pension Plan. “CLAC’s wall-to-wall representation model, which promotes harmony rather than discord between trades, is a perfect fit for our new members at Mavcor,” says Robert Brink, representative. “The union bargaining committee was clear with their priorities: improving compensation while maintaining the positive work environment they’ve enjoyed to date. We negotiated a settlement that achieved that.” Mavcor is a general contractor building and renovating commercial and institutional buildings across southern Ontario. Its electrical division works on those projects and others.
