Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd. Employees Vote Overwhelmingly in Favour of New Contract

Cambridge, ON—Employees of Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd. voted 82 percent in favour of a new three-year collective agreement, effective May 1, 2021, until April 30, 2024.

The settlement was negotiated by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52, which has represented the employees since August 1970.

The contract provides employees with total value increases of between 7.5 and 8 percent. Along with significant hourly pay increases each year, the new agreement also provides improved pension contributions, better vision coverage under healthcare benefits, and a higher allowance for employee tool and boot purchases. Increased rates for mileage and living-out allowances were also secured.

“The members employed by Maple Reinders work every day to build infrastructure vital to Ontario,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC representative. “This new contract recognizes their worth and provides members and their families with secure and stable income for both their present needs as well as the future.”
