Thursday, March 5, 2026 LTS Employees Secure Wage, Benefits Gains with New Contract Local 52 Ratifications Construction MISSISSAUGA, ON—Local 52 members employed by LTS Build Services Ltd. voted in favour of a three-year collective agreement providing them with increases to wages, boot and workwear allowances, and employer payments toward the cost of the benefits plan. Local 52 has represented the company’s employees since 2017. LTS currently employs approximately 275 unionized employees in a variety of classifications. The new contract includes total package increases of at least 8.25 percent over the term. The boot and workwear allowance increased to $300 annually. “This was a challenging round of negotiations as the parties balanced the cost of living along with the attraction and retention of workforce talent while still remaining competitive,” says J.D. Alkema, CLAC’s regional director for the GTA. “During negotiations, we were able to secure good compensation for our members while balancing the employer’s need to be competitive. The new agreement will also help LTS retain the excellent workforce it has.” You might be interested in How to Manage an Insecure Leader 16 Jul 2026 Heat of the Moment 13 Jul 2026 The Power Within Is No Yolk! 13 Jul 2026 An Eye on Safety 10 Jul 2026
