Livingstone Manor Employees See Wage Gains with New Contract

Listowel, ON—The 16 employees of Livingstone Manor Retirement Residence in Listowel, Ontario, unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage gains and other improvements.

The employees are represented by Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 304. The union has represented the home’s employees since 1990.

The new contract provides employees with a nine percent wage increase over the term. Other improvements include a reduction of the biweekly overtime threshold, the introduction of a weekend premium, and improvements to vision coverage and life insurance payout.

“We were pleased to achieve this settlement for our caring and dedicated members at Livingstone Manor,” says Ken Dam, CLAC representative. “They work tirelessly to serve their residents in a unique retirement home setting, and they deserve every penny they will earn with this new agreement.”
