Thursday, May 28, 2026 Ledcor Highways Employees Ratify New Contract Providing Wage and Safety Improvements Local 52 Ratifications Construction SAULT STE. MARIE, ON—Employees of Ledcor Highways Ltd. (ON), a highway maintenance contractor based in northern Ontario, ratified a renewed collective agreement providing wage increases, improved overtime provisions, and enhanced safety allowances. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the company’s employees since 2023. The group voted 92 percent in favour of the agreement, which runs from June 2026 to May 2029. The new contract includes solid wage increases, improved overtime provisions, and enhanced safety-related allowances recognizing the demanding nature of their work. “A very big thank-you to the bargaining committee for their excellent work and dedication, and to the members for their incredible hard work and support,” says Matt Walchuk, CLAC representative. “Our members have faced record-breaking amounts of snowfall this year, and the bargaining committee is very happy to have been able to negotiate enhancements that reflect their commitment and sacrifice.” Ledcor Highways Ltd.
