Monday, March 14, 2022 Ledcor Construction Employees Secure Wage, Pension, and Benefits Gains with New Contract Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Mississauga, ON—Employees of Ledcor Construction Limited voted unanimously in favour of a new three-year collective agreement providing them with increases to wages, pension, travel provisions, and employer payments toward the cost of the benefits plan. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented them since 1990. The new contract includes wage increases of eight percent over three years. Employer contributions to the union pension plan will increase by two percent for a total of twelve percent contributed to each employee’s pension plan. Benefit improvements include increased prescription drug, long term disability, and life insurance coverage. “The construction sector is increasingly competitive,” says J. D. Alkema, CLAC regional director for the GTA. “During negotiations, we were able to secure proper compensation for our members while balancing the employer’s need to be competitive.
