Lacombe Foundation Employees Accept New Collective Agreement

Calgary—Employees of the Lacombe Foundation working at Lacombe Senior Citizens Lodge and Eckville Manor House have voted 80 percent in favour of accepting a renewed two year collective agreement. Employees at both locations are members of Retail, Health Care and Service Employees Union, CLAC Local 301.

Highlights of the contract include significant hourly wage increases of four to ten percent, depending on employee classifications; increased evening and night shift premiums; improved vacation entitlement; and flexibility to bank overtime hours for future time off.

“Our members are very pleased with this settlement,” says Brendan Kooy, CLAC representative. “We feel that this contract, particularly with regard to wages, provides the necessary adjustments for these employees compared to similar workplaces in the greater Red Deer area. We appreciate the willingness of the Lacombe Foundation and the Bethany Group to listen and be flexible during negotiations.”
