Kent Erie Glass & Lock Employees Vote Overwhelmingly in Favour of New Contract

CHATHAM, ON—Local 53 members employed by Kent-Erie Glass & Lock Inc. voted 88 percent in favour of ratifying a three year collective agreement providing them with significant wage increases and other improvements.

The new contract provides employees with a 13.4 percent wage increase over the term and includes an improvement to the foreperson premium. In addition, members will now benefit from the introduction of paid personal days. Retirement and benefits provisions remain unchanged, maintaining consistency in key areas.

The members, who are employed as architectural glass and metal technicians, work primarily at job sites in Chatham and Sarnia.

“This new agreement rewards members for their skill and dedication,” says Ryan Griffioen, representative. “It reflects their hard work on the job and ensures continued fair compensation and stability for the years ahead.”
