She was known for her positive energy, kindness, and love. She cared deeply for the residents and the staff at Glamorgan. When someone shared good news with Yurub, she would always be one of the first to give congratulations, and it always came with a big hug! She was a “positive, colourful, and generous individual,” says Joel Bond, owner of Glamorgan Care Centre. “Her sacrifice and commitment to the care of our residents at Glamorgan Care Centre will never be forgotten. She will be dearly missed and remembered as a selfless hero.” Yurub loved her job, and she took very good care of the residents at Glamorgan. “Yurub treated everyone like her family, and enjoyed every moment,” one steward remarked. “She was a type of person that anytime she entered a room, she had a presence,” says her son Mohamed. “Everybody liked her.” In November, Yurub contracted COVID-19, and she just didn’t seem to get better. In December, she was taken to the hospital, where doctors treated her for almost two months. Sadly, she passed away on January 29, 2021.
