Improved Pay, Retirement Savings for Postma Concrete Forming Employees

Wyoming, ON—Employees of Lambton County based Postma Concrete Forming unanimously ratified a new three-year contract settlement, which features a balance between improvements in their take-home pay and future retirement savings.

The employees are members of Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The new agreement provides them with annual wage increases of 2, 2.25, and 2.25 percent for all classifications each spring. Overall contributions to employee pensions in the CLAC Pension Plan rise to as much as $4.15 per hour worked. The settlement also directs improvement in contract terms covering paid break times and paid leave for bereavement.

“I am proud that our members at Postma Concrete Forming earn a fair wage and enjoy solid benefits for retirement, healthcare, training, and more,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC Local 53 representative. “The resolve between management and the union to deliver fair value to the employees while also offering steady employment is clear. Our members, who depend on seasonal work, benefit doubly from both full work weeks as well as good wages and benefits.”
