Thursday, February 25, 2021 Hero Pay for ALL Heroes Newsletters Ontario Healthcare Sectors Healthcare Many healthcare workers continue to be left out of Hero Pay, the additional money that the government provided to some workers on two different occasions throughout this pandemic. The extra money is meant to both attract and retain staff as well as provide some acknowledgement to workers of the additional risk and strain of working on the front lines during the pandemic. CLAC launched a campaign calling on the government to broaden the scope of Hero Pay and to make it permanent (clac.ca/healthcarehero). The strain of being a front-line healthcare worker has existed for many years and will continue for many more—as should this additional pay.
