Wednesday, May 14, 2025 Haebler Construction Employees Unanimously Ratify New Collective Agreement Local 68 Ratifications Construction Vancouver—Local 68 members employed by Haebler 2000 Construction Inc., a general contractor based in Vancouver, voted unanimously in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement. The new contract provides members with wage increases of six percent in year one, four percent in year two, and three percent in year three. In addition, the apprenticeship lump sum increases to $75, the annual footwear allowance increases to $200 (previously biannual), and statutory holidays now will be paid on the day they fall, rather than averaged into each pay. The contract also includes the addition of a four cents per hour employer contribution to the union’s Industry Fund. “Members were very pleased with the improvements included in this new contract,” says Aleasha Wegner, representative. “These increases help keep wages competitive within the industry, and the employer expressed their commitment to employee retention and recognition through this agreement.” Local 68 has represented Haebler’s employees since 1994.
