Friday, April 21, 2023 G.S. Sheet Metal Employees See Significant Gains with New Contract Locals Local 6 Ratifications Sectors Construction Hamilton, ON—Local 6 members employed by G.S. Sheet Metal, based in Hamilton, Ontario, unanimously ratified a two-year collective agreement providing them with significant gains. The new contract provides a $7.25 per hour wage increase, or 19.2 percent, over the term as well as a $1.14 per hour increase to employer contributions to members’ pension plan. In addition, vacation pay was increased depending on years of service, the tool allowance was increase, and three new paid sick days were negotiated. G.S. Sheet Metal employs 20 Local 6 sheet metal mechanics and apprentices who serve the Greater Hamilton Area.
