Wednesday, May 17, 2023 Greater Essex Electrical Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract Locals Local 53 Ratifications Sectors Construction Lasalle, ON—Employees of Greater Essex Electrical 2016 Inc., based in Lasalle, Ontario, unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with annual wage increases. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The union has represented them since January 2017. The new contract provides employees with a $1 per hour wage increase in the first year followed by increases of 50 cents per hour in years two and three. “This result helps bring up wage rates to help offset the large cost that inflation is having on the buying power of hard-working Canadians like our members at Greater Essex Electrical,” says Alex Kuiper, CLAC representative. Greater Essex Electrical is an electrical contractor providing services primarily in the Windsor region. The company employs 14 electricians and electrician apprentices.
