Wednesday, November 22, 2023 GML Mechanical Employees Secure Annual Wage Increases with New Contract Locals Local 68 Ratifications Sectors Construction Delta, BC—Employees of GML Mechanical Ltd. recently voted in favour of a three-year collective agreement providing them with annual wage increases and other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction and Allied Workers Union, CLAC Local 68. The union has represented them since 1999. The new contract provides employees with a $5 per hour wage increase to the journeyperson rate in the first year along with four percent annual increases to all classifications in years two and three. Increases to the pension plan were also achieved at the bargaining table as well as improved vacation pay and parking premium. “This contract catches the members up to the industry standard being paid in the plumbing industry in the Vancouver area,” says Don Mundy, CLAC representative. “We’ve had a good relationship with GML Mechanical for many years, and this contract continues in that direction. The members were happy to see a healthy increase.” GML Mechanical, based in Delta, BC, is a plumbing contractor working in the commercial and high-rise residential sector in the Vancouver area. The company currently employs over 60 CLAC Local 68 members.
