Newsletters Construction If this applies to you, we would like to congratulate you on qualifying to write the Interprovincial Red Seal Exam in Ontario! As of April 2, 2025, all exams are now completed electronically using the rsexam.ca system. There are two key parts to this process in setting up and accessing the exam. In our May newsletter, we talked about the new exam scheduling process. Since then. STO has released more information to support apprentices through this last step of the race. Part 1. Complete the following steps to schedule your exam: Confirm your eligibility to take a certifying exam through Skilled Trades Ontario (STO). Pay your exam fee (if applicable) by contacting STO at 647-847-3000, or toll free at 1-855-299-0028. You will receive your Authorization to Test Letter from STO, which will arrive via email after paying your exam fee. Do not lose this letter! It contains all the essential information needed to schedule your exam and you will need to bring it with you on exam day. Follow the instructions on your Authorization to Test Letter to schedule your exam with STO’s delivery partner; rsexam.ca. For more information, please visit the Exam Scheduling page on STO’s website. We strongly encourage you to review this important information. Part 2. After scheduling your exam: You’ll use the rsexam.ca system to practice and take the actual exam. 14 days before your exam, you’ll get an email from ccda.alerts@gmail.ca. Look for the subject line: “Red Seal Examination Account Activation.” Be sure to check your spam folder. The email (in English and French) includes your username (your email) and a temporary password. To create your password, click the email link provided by STO or go to http://uat.rsexam.ca/Account/Login. Enter your email and the temporary password. Follow the instructions to create and confirm your new password. You have 72 hours to log in using this temporary password at http://rsexam.ca/Account/Login Do not ignore this email! You must log in and change your password within 72 hours, or you’ll lose access. If you happen to miss the 72-hour window, please call STO Registration Services at 647-847-3000, or Toll Free at 1-855-299-0028. You must do this by 5:00 pm EST the day before your exam. After logging in, set your new password and remember it for practice and exam day. Please follow the system’s rules for password length and characters. Save the login the URL and practice during the 14 days before the exam. You can reset your password any time before exam day. Remember to log off the rsexam.ca site before your exam day. You cannot be logged in on two devices. Please remember that your username is the email address you provided to STO. Please remember to bring your password to your exam at your assigned testing centre. Write it down on your Authorization to Test Letter (ATTL) and remember that your password is case- sensitive. Another update includes new testing centres. Certification exams are available at the following Prometric Canada Testing Services locations: Toronto (three locations), Mississauga Hamilton, London, Ottawa, Barrie, Sudbury Newly open: May 7—Thunder Bay June 2—Windsor STO is also preparing for expansion in Eastern, Southwestern, and Northern Ontario. Stay tuned for more information in the newsletter! Top Five Tips for Exam Day Set your new password by 5:00 pm EST the day before the exam. Log off rsexam.ca on all other personal devices before your exam. Check your password the night before your exam. Bring your password, Authorization to Test Letter, and valid ID to the exam. Relax.
