Wednesday, February 12, 2020 Gedco Employees Give Unanimous Support for New Contract Locals Local 6 Ratifications Sectors Construction Brantford, ON—Employees of Brantford-based Gedco Excavating Ltd. voted unanimously to accept a settlement for a renewed collective agreement negotiated by their union, Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 6. The three-year contract provides employees with several monetary improvements, including annual wage increases of 2.25 percent over the term, pension contributions increased to $4.10 per hour, and a new bonus system with a value of up to 2 percent. In addition, the settlement provides an improved policy for paid overtime and premiums, 1.5 times the rate of all-night work and Saturday work, and an annual boot allowance. “We are pleased to deliver a fair and positive settlement for our members,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC representative. “It is good to see our members rewarded along with the growth of Gedco.
