Sunday, September 17, 2023 Frank Kooger Awards Winners! Each year, CLAC distributes a number of awards to apprentices in the construction trades who strive to excel and who are dedicated to becoming journeypersons in their trades Newsletters Ontario Construction These apprentice awards were created in memory of Frank Kooger, a well-respected, long-time CLAC representative who passed away suddenly in 2008 at the age of 55. Frank was a strong proponent of the trades. This year, three members working in Ontario construction won, James Fowler, Bryan Metcalfe, and Jacob Malecki. James is a Local 6 member and electrician employed by O’Connor Electric. Bryan and Jacob are Local 53 members and electricians employed by J.M.R. Electric Ltd. Congratulations, James, Bryan, and Jacob! To learn more and to apply for next year’s awards, log in to myCLAC and visit the My Apprenticeship page to fill in an application form.
