Saturday, February 7, 2026 Follow These Steps to Book Your C of Q Exam Newsletters Construction As of February 1, all Certificate of Qualification exams are now being done through Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) using your STO Portal account. You will not be using the old scheduling system, Prometric, any longer. In our January newsletter, we discussed the new exam-scheduling process. Since then, we have learned more about the scheduling process and can give you a step-by-step guide to schedule your CofQ exam. Part 1. Complete the following steps before scheduling your exam: Confirm your eligibility to take a certifying exam through Skilled Trades Ontario (STO). Pay your exam fee (if applicable) by contacting STO at 647-847-3000, or toll free at 1-855-299-0028. Once you're approved by STO to write the exam, you will receive more details about this process in a follow-up email. If you require accommodations, you need to do so before scheduling your exam. To request accommodations, you will need to submit an Exam Accommodation Request Form, along with all your supporting documentation, to accommodations@skilledtradesontario.ca. Once your accommodations have been approved, you can schedule your exam. Part 2. Scheduling your exam: Log into your STO Portal account – if you have issues logging in, you can contact STO directly. From the home page, select Examination. Be sure to review the disclaimer before selecting Book Exam! Select Exam Type & Language, select Next. Select all locations (up to 5) that are accessible to you. If you don’t see a location on the list that is close enough to you, contact STO to get more information. Select View Locations once you’ve made your selections Toggle through calendar view until you see a date that works best for you. Remember that availability for each location may vary. When you find a date and time that works, click Select (will turn green) Select Book this Exam You have now successfully scheduled your exam! Take a screenshot of the confirmation details. You will receive similar information from STO in an email. For more information, please visit the Exam Scheduling page on STO’s website. We strongly encourage you to review this important information. Part 3. After scheduling your exam: You’ll be able to review your exam details under Exam Bookings on the main page.
