Wednesday, May 2, 2018 First Contract Brings Wage Increases to Matheson Constructors Workers Local 52 Ratifications Mississauga, ON—CLAC Local 52 members employed at Matheson Constructors Limited have ratified their first collective agreement. The contract establishes good terms and working conditions, including health benefits, pension, overtime, and holiday pay. In addition, substantial improvements in these categories will follow over the course of the three-year deal. “We achieved many good things in this first agreement,” said Andrew Regnerus, a negotiator for Local 52. “That comes from very good union-management discussions. We listened to each other’s interests and developed win-win solutions.” Matheson has work on some 30 sites in throughout Ontario, primarily in the ICI and heavy construction sectors. CLAC represents its carpenters, labourers, and machine operators.
