First Collective Agreement for PSE Services Employees Unanimously Ratified

King, ON—Last week, electricians and electrical apprentices employed by PSE Services unanimously accepted their first three-year contract under CLAC representation.

The 12 employees are members of Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the employees since August 2021.

Highlights of the agreement include yearly wage increases over the term of the contract ($37.00, $38.50, and $40.00, respectively); a $300 boot, tool, and clothing allowance; four percent employer pension contribution; and afternoon and night shift premiums. The employer will also cover all benefit plan costs beginning in August 2022.

“This is a new agreement, and there were a number of items to discuss,” says Josh Vanderlaan, CLAC representative. “The bargaining committee remained focused and worked hard to achieve the goals of the members.”
