Wednesday, January 3, 2018 Exciting Changes for 2018 Newsletters With this New Year comes many big changes for CLAC in BC. We ended 2017 on a positive note—marking our members’ many accomplishments on Parliament Hill in November and celebrating the government’s decision in December to complete construction on the Site C Clean Energy Project. As we begin the year on a fresh new page, we look forward to building on our members’ successes with many more, with great work being done at the G3 Project and the Westridge Terminal, to name a few. We also look forward to some exciting transitions within our team. Early this year, David Prentice will complete his tenure as BC director. David transferred from Alberta to BC to become CLAC’s BC director on January 1, 2009. From the outset, David’s courage and tenacity served him well, and in the years that followed, he was instrumental in growing CLAC into the stable and confident presence in the province that we are today. David will continue to serve CLAC as a national representative. Kevin Kohut, formerly CLAC’s BC construction and mining coordinator, has enthusiastically agreed to take on the challenge of new BC director. Kevin has worked for CLAC for 20 years, and through his extensive experience representing our members in the construction industry, has acquired a skill set that will serve him well in his new role. I am confident that Kevin will do an excellent job taking CLAC to another level in BC, and focussing on the reason why we do what we do—representing you, our members.
