Friday, May 1, 2026 Everyday Champion! Congratulations to Local 63 member Steven McGie, our May Everyday Champion winner! Local 63 National Construction Steven was nominated by his coworker Carson Kubinchak. They both are employed by Brock Canada Field Services in Nisku, Alberta. “I have never seen someone light up a room and boost morale more than this fella," says Carson. "He's an amazing scaffolder and mentor, and a genuine, straightforward guy that will tell you how it is. He doesn't lash out or express anger, but rather, problem solves and teaches right from wrong. He's an absolute role model. He brought me into this line of work starting as a first-year apprentice, and now that I'm coming up on achieving my jman ticket, I realize how lucky I am to have a guy like Steven McGie on my side. If anyone deserves the title of champion, it's him. We need more people like Steve to better our future workforce and strengthen our integrity as tradesmen. I hope that when I get my certs and have my own apprentice, I can change his life and better his future the same way Steven did for me. He also has an awesome nickname. Wolfy. I owe him more than I can ever repay. We need more leaders like Wolfy!" Do you have a coworker who makes a positive difference in your workplace? Express your appreciation by nominating your colleague for CLAC’s Everyday Champions award, and they could win a $100 Amazon card and a $100 CLAC Store gift card!
