Wednesday, April 25, 2018 Employees Unanimously Endorse New Contract with Pro Electric Local 53 Ratifications London, ON—Employees of Pro Electric Inc., located in London, have ratified a collective agreement that will provide monetary, pension, and benefit increases. The 89 employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The tentative settlement negotiated on their behalf was approved with unanimous support. The new three-year contract includes annual increases totalling $2.20 to the base journeyman wage rate. Contributions to employee pensions were increased and new and expanded coverage was secured under the health care benefit plan. “The negotiated settlement was fair and good for all parties,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC Local 53 representative. “Our members can identify a good thing when they see it. They know that this deal meets their needs to pay their bills, feed their families, and pay the mortgage, along with securing stable and continued employment for the future.” CLAC Local 53 has represented the skilled tradespersons in the electrical and mechanical divisions at Pro Electric since 1974.
