Monday, October 4, 2021 Employees of Trade Electrical Contractors Inc. Approve New Contract with Rate Increases, New Paid Leave Day Locals Local 52 Ratifications Mississauga, ON— Employees of Trade Electrical Contractors Inc. have voted 89 percent in favour of a new three-year collective agreement. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the employees since 2015. The agreement contains an immediate increase of $3 to the journeyperson rate, plus additional increases of $1 in each of the last two years of the agreement. The employees will also see increased employer contributions to their pension accounts as well as the introduction of a new paid leave day for birth or adoption and a new tool and boot allowance. “It’s a tight market for electricians right now, and CLAC’s bargaining committee worked with Trade’s management on a big step forward in compensation, which serves everyone’s interests well,” says Robert Brink, CLAC representative.
