Contractor Sales voted unanimously in favour of a new collective agreement providing them with a number of substantial improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the employees since January 2011. The three-year agreement provides wage increases, increases to employer contributions to the pension plan, an increase to vacation pay provisions, and improved living-out allowances. The agreement provides total compensation increases of at least 11.5 percent over the term. “The parties were able to negotiate a contract that provided significant total package increases to the employees while still allowing the employer to remain competitive while navigating the complexity of the pandemic,” says Randy Parris, CLAC representative. P.H.E. is an electrical contractor based in Brampton working in the greater Toronto area. It provides services in the industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors of the construction industry.
