Friday, November 9, 2018 Employees at Rogers Arena Secure Wage Gains, Maintain Benefits with New Agreement Locals Local 501 Ratifications Sectors Hospitality Vancouver—Over 1,000 unionized employees of Canucks Sports & Entertainment working at Rogers Arena voted 76 percent in favour of ratifying a new four-year collective agreement following months of bargaining. The employees are represented by Service, Health, Manufacturing, and Allied Workers Union, CLAC Local 501. The agreement covers union members employed as hosts, housekeepers, bartenders, electricians, building operators, servers, quick service attendants, cooks, and conversions and security staff. Details of the agreement include a 10 percent wage increase over the term of the contract and improvements to scheduling provisions. Employees also maintained all provisions of their excellent union-sponsored health and welfare benefits package, which was a priority for the membership heading into bargaining. “We’re extremely pleased with the outcome,” says Dennis Watt, Local 501 president who works at the arena and is a union steward. “We consulted with the membership to identify key outcomes prior to bargaining and were able to secure them through lengthy but positive negotiations with the employer. I would like to thank all those involved for their hard work and dedication to the task at hand. #WeAreAllCanucks.” You might be interested in Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026 Ready to Deliver 3 Jun 2026
