Friday, October 25, 2019 Division 26 Employees Unanimously Ratify First Contract Locals Local 63 Ratifications Sectors Construction Fort McMurray, AB—Electricians with Division 26 Inc. ratified their first collective agreement in a unanimous vote. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 63, which was certified to represent them by the Alberta Labour Relations Board on September 23. The 32-month contract includes competitive wage rates and industry standard premiums with other contractors in the region. Employees will also receive a total of eight percent employer contributions to the pension plan and group RSP. In addition, they now have a competitive benefits plan that is paid by the employer. “The negotiation process went smoothly,” says Izzy Huygen, CLAC representative. “A number of employees were new to CLAC and some had worked previously with other CLAC-signatory contractors and knew that we could secure them the gains that they were looking for with their employer.” Division 26 provides electrical services in the industrial and commercial construction sector in the Fort McMurray region.
