Wednesday, December 14, 2022 Division 26 Employees Overwhelmingly Ratify New Contract Locals Local 63 Ratifications Sectors Construction Fort McMurray, AB—Employees of Division 26 Inc., based in Fort McMurray, overwhelmingly ratified a 30-month collective agreement providing them with strong wage gains and other improvements. The approximately 40 employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 63. The union has represented them since September 2019. The new contract provides electricians with a 7.26 percent wage increase to bring them to industry norms and 4 percent for other classifications, whose rates were already within current industry norms. The agreement also includes beneficial training language, clarifies language around overtime work on off days, and provides $500 reimbursement for flame resistant gear. “The bargaining committee did excellent work identifying the needs and priorities of the membership,” says Josh Kellert, CLAC representative. “We managed to get everything included in the settlement, and the membership responded by voting 97 percent in favour of ratifying the contract.” Division 26 is an electrical contractor serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients in Alberta.
