Didn't Get It?

Have you been passed over for a promotion or a job opportunity?

5 Ways to Ensure You Won’t Get It Next Time Either

1. Don’t wait. Be impulsive, act petulant and entitled, and get super emotional.
2. Disconnect from everyone. And start sending out those resumes! After all, these clowns surely don’t appreciate your obvious talent.
3. Don’t listen to advice. You know why they didn’t give it to you. Why bother listening to anyone’s critique?
4. Be the squeaky wheel. Complain—big time. Let everyone know how unhappy you are that you’ve been passed over.
5. Dwell on the horrible experience. Stew in your unhappiness instead of looking at how you may improve.

5 Dos and Don'ts

1. Do act immediately before you’ve cooled off.
2. Don’t ask why you didn’t get it.
3. Do badmouth the person who rejected you.
4. Don’t look to others for help.
5. Do turn it into a devastating experience, not merely a career disappointment.
