Wednesday, October 27, 2021 Dean-Lane Employees Ratify New Contract Providing Significant Wage Gains Locals Local 53 Ratifications Sectors Construction Kitchener, ON—The 45 sheet metal workers and refrigeration mechanics employed by Dean-Lane Contractors Inc. ratified a new three-year collective agreement with 97 percent voting in favour. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The union has represented them since 2015. The new contract provides employees of the Kitchener-based contractor with wage increases totalling 12 to 15 percent over the term. In addition, employer contributions to the employees’ pension plan will increase by 4 percent to a total of 13 percent over the term.
