Thursday, August 1, 2024 Daphil Electrical Employees Secure Significant Wage Increases with New Contract Locals Local 63 Ratifications Sectors Construction Edmonton—Local 63 members employed by Edmonton-based Daphil Electrical Inc. voted unanimously in favour of ratifying a two-year collective agreement providing significant wage increases. The new contract includes a $3 per hour wage increase, bringing the journeyperson rate to $38 per hour. The increase is followed by a scheduled wage review next summer. In addition, members saw an increase to the daily meal allowance from $50 to $60, with language to adjust higher for specific jobs as required. Daphil works primarily in the medical electrical field and occasionally on commercial properties. Local 63 has represented the company’s employees since 2005.
