Wednesday, July 19, 2017 Concrete Systems Employees Unanimously Support New Contract Locals Local 53 Ratifications The employees of Lambton-based Concrete Systems have voted unanimously to accept the terms of a new collective agreement. The contract was negotiated by Local 53. The three-year agreement secures three percent wage increases annually, with all classifications earning a 10 percent total wage increase over the term. Employer-paid pension contributions will rise to as much as $2.95 per hour. Further increases include improvements to the health benefits plan, boot allowance, and paid bereavement leave. “This is a great contract for our members,” says Roger Grootenboer, Local 53 representative. “I am pleased that our members earn a high income with additional health, retirement, and training benefits.
