Ratify First Contract Local 519 Ratifications Manufacturing CHATHAM, ON—Members of the Manufacturing, Transportation & Allied Workers Union, CLAC Local 519 have unanimously ratified a first collective agreement with 1811965 Ontario Inc. The five-year contract brings wage increases totalling 8.75 percent, as well as a signing bonus. The agreement also introduces protected provisions determining how and when employees can access vacation time and vacation pay. “This is a new bargaining unit for CLAC,” says Kate do Forno, CLAC representative. “The process of negotiating a new collective agreement has been one that has taken time, patience, and dedication to serving the new members brought into the CLAC fold. We’re happy to see wage increases for these hard-working members.” Production and maintenance employees of 1811965 Ontario Inc. are engaged in the fabrication of iron, steel, and metal products or in maintenance work at the company’s shops located in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
