Tuesday, October 31, 2017 CLAC National Convention Recap Newsletters n October 26-27, the 2017 CLAC National Convention was held in Kitchener-Waterloo. As the highest decision-making body within CLAC, the National Convention is convened once every three years. In attendance were around 127 delegates representing 25 locals affiliated with CLAC from across the country. The assembled delegates conducted the business of the organization, led by the president of the CLAC National Board, John Kamphof. The delegates supported a number of resolutions to government, including an overture to the Ontario government to ensure that open and fair tendering of publicly funded construction work is protected. A highlight of the convention was the keynote address delivered by the Ontario Minister of Labour, the Honourable Kevin Flynn. The next assembly of the National Convention will occur in 2020.
