Thursday, October 9, 2025 CLAC Leaders Meeting with International Partners Trade union leaders from around the world have come together to discuss how to improve the lives of workers. News CLAC is excited to be at WOW Congress 2025 in Porto, Portugal, this week. WOW (World Organisation of Workers) is an international trade union federation made up of unions from around the world. CLAC is an affiliated member. Wayne Prins (CLAC executive director and WOW president) and Andrew Regnerus (international representative) are attending and connecting with union leaders from around the world to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and advance the work of the global labour movement. Many of our fellow WOW members operate in nations where workers do not have adequate rights and protections. Together, the member unions of WOW are striving to ensure all workers have access to safe and respectful workplaces, training opportunities, and economic stability. CLAC was also joined by representatives from the CLAC Foundation. Darren Schearer (CLAC Foundation program manager) and Robyn Haarsma (CLAC representative and CLAC Foundation president), met with various union leaders to learn more about how the foundation can partner with them to advance workers’ rights and training opportunities. Robyn also had the opportunity to participate in a round table discussion on “Shaping the Future of Work with AI: A Global Dialogue on Opportunities and Challenges.” For more coverage of the event, check out CLAC's Facebook page or the WOW Facebook page.
