Thursday, October 19, 2023 CLAC Career Development College Celebrates Grand Opening of New Edmonton Campus News Edmonton—CLAC Career Development College (CCDC) is excited to announce the official opening of our new Edmonton campus on Wedensday, October 25. The new campus, located just blocks away from the Edmonton Member Centre, allows CCDC to expand program offerings and train the next generation of skilled workers. In Alberta alone, BuildForce Canada’s 2022 Construction & Maintenance Outlook Report estimates that 22,650 skilled trades professionals will be retiring within the next six years. At the same time, new projects in the construction sector will require at least 2,400 new jobs, resulting in a recruitment requirement of 27,700 workers by 2028. Established in 2017, CLAC Career Development College offers quality, industry-recognized training for scaffolders, welders, and insulators at all levels of learning, in all stages of their careers. CCDC recognized Alberta’s need for skilled, safe, certified workers, and demonstrated workforce development leadership through the 2023 expansion into our new Edmonton campus. CCDC will welcome alumni, industry partners, community members, and government representatives to a grand opening celebration on October 25 to showcase our new campus and announce exciting program expansions. CCDC has committed to providing equipment and materials that meet industry standards and investing in new technologies to train apprentices for careers in skilled trades. Our new Edmonton campus will allow CCDC to continue providing training with real-life experience, apprenticeship pathway support, and the industry connections alumni need to succeed in a skilled trades career. Prospective students, apprentices, and industry partners can look forward to an increased frequency of current CCDC programs, alongside the launch of more pre-apprentice training programs in 2024 and beyond.
