Cirrus Management Contracting Employees Secure Wage, Pension Gains with New Contract

St. Catharines, ON—Employees of Cirrus Management Contracting Limited, based in St. Catharines, ratified a three-year collective agreement providing wage and pension increases and other improvements.

The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 6. The union has represented the employees since October 2000.

The new contract provides employees with a 1.5 percent wage increase to all classifications as well as increases to employer contributions to their pension plan and the union’s industry fund. Other improvements include increases to mileage reimbursement, show-up pay, and responsibility premiums for lead hands and forepersons.

“The union’s bargaining committee did an excellent job identifying the needs of the membership,” says Matthew Barrett, CLAC representative. “Negotiations proved challenging due to COVID restrictions, but we were able to work together cooperatively to achieve a settlement that is fair for all parties.”
