General construction plumbers/pipefitters Ratifications AECOM Maintenance Contractors Members employed by AECOM ratified a new 32-month collective agreement on December 28th 2020. The new agreement brings increases to the benefit plan as well as increases to off site training compensation. Approximately 1,200 Local 63 members are currently performing steady industrial maintenance work on multiple major sites throughout Alberta. BakosNDT Ltd. Members employed by this Whitecourt-based firm ratified their first agreement. The 30-month contract includes enrolment in CLAC retirement savings and benefits plans, paid time for training, and 10% premium for shifts worked between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. EllisDon Energy Services Inc. Members employed by this Fort Saskatchewan-based contractor unanimously ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with a 0.5% wage increase. Employer premiums for the benefits package were also increased to maintain coverage. Employer contributions to retirement savings remain unchanged. Golderado Contracting Corp. Members employed by this Fort Saskatchewan-based contractor ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with a 0.5% wage increase. Employer premiums for the benefits package were also increased to maintain coverage. Employer contributions to retirement savings remain unchanged. nVent Project Services Canada Inc. Members employed by this Edmonton-based firm ratified a 30-month agreement providing a $1/hr. wage increase. Traugott Building Contractors Inc. Members employed as carpenters and labourers by this Calgary-based contractor unanimously ratified a 2-year agreement. The contract does not include wage increases for 2021 but members will receive consumer price index increases of at least 1% to a maximum of 2% in 2022. In addition, members continue to receive a strong retirement package as well as premiums for night shift work and being a steward. The living-out allowance was increased to $125/day and the partial accommodation allowance to $50/day. TWI (Technical Workforce Inc.) – roadbuilding and heavy construction division Members unanimously ratified a 32-month agreement providing 1.5% wage increases in the 1st and 2nd year of the contract. In addition, members receive 3% employer contributions to their RSP plan and 2% to their pension plan, plus 1% matching contribution. The employer has also agreed to shorten the wait period for short term disability from 14 days to 7, resulting in an increase to the premiums the employer pays. In addition, foreperson and lead-hand premiums have been moved from a flat per hour amount to a percentage, resulting in an increase to these premiums. vVent Project Services Canada Inc.
