Thursday, April 23, 2026 Caressant Care Employees Secure Improvements to Wages, Benefits, and Premiums Local 303 Ratifications Healthcare WOODSTOCK, ON—Employees of Caressant Care Rest Home, a retirement home based in Woodstock, Ontario, ratified a two-year collective agreement providing wage increases, improved benefits, and enhanced premiums. The employees are represented by Southwestern Ontario Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303. The union has represented the company’s employees since 1980. The 58-member group, which includes RPNs, guest attendants, housekeeping staff, dietary aides, cooks, and activity aides, voted 92 percent in favour of the new contract. The agreement provides wage increases of 3.5 percent effective April 1, 2026, and 3 percent effective April 1, 2027. It also includes improvements to vision and paramedical coverage, increases to the uniform allowance, enhancements to the responsibility premium, and the introduction of a medication premium. Additional improvements include new provisions allowing employees nearing retirement to reduce their working hours without impacting their full-time status. “Our members play an essential role in providing quality care and support to residents,” says Trish Douma, CLAC representative. “This agreement delivers meaningful improvements while recognizing their dedication and supporting them throughout their careers.” Caressant Care Rest Home provides retirement living and care services to seniors in the Woodstock community.
