Wednesday, December 16, 2020 Buy-Low Employees Secure Wage Gains and Contract Improvements Locals Local 56 Ratifications Calgary—Local 56 members employed by Buy-Low Foods Ltd. at the Associated Grocers warehouse in Calgary ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage gains and a number of contract improvements. The contract was ratified with 77 percent of members voting in favour. The agreement includes regular wage increases for all 107 employees, with senior employees receiving at least two percent per year over the term. Members will also receive increases to the night-shift premium and freezer premium. In addition, contract language improvements were made to sick leave provisions, the vacation booking process, and the filling of vacancies due to illness or injury.
